TSU712: Air Assault Platoon

The paratroopers, the desantniki (those who land), are the elite of the Soviet ground forces. They are tough fighters with many afgantsy veterans among their ranks. They are trained to drop into a target zone and be prepared to fight immediately. They can land by parachute or by helicopter and have their own infantry fighting vehicles that can arrive with them by parachute or be brought in later by transport aircraft.

The VDV desantniki are equipped with AK-74 assault rifles, RPG-18 disposable anti-tank weapons, as well as more powerful RPG-7 reusable anti-tank rocket launchers.
