Although most of the Seven Kingdoms believe that the tales about the supernatural creatures that dwell beyond the Wall are simple myths and legends, the Night's Watch can attest to the opposite: the huargo wolves, the great bears, the giants and those who use ancient magic are very real and are a much greater threat if they unite under the banner of the Free People.

Mag the Mighty, tribal chief of the giants, leads his own from the vanguard of his army and can crush entire ranks of enemy formations by himself with great ease. As for the giant known as Wun, although it is hard to believe, he is even bigger than Mag and is unparalleled as a first-line warrior.
