By Fire and Sword II: Peasant Rebels

As the uprising began to spread, masses of peasants flocked to the rebels' banners. Some commanders had several thousand such "troops."  By combining this set with the COSSACK RABBLE set, you will be able to field huge, 20-base strong, Unit of Cossack Rabble XL,  which simulates large unit of 800-1,000 rebel peasants.

Firearms were widespread in 16th- and 17th-century Ukraine, similar to those in the 19th-century Wild West. Eryk Lassota wrote that for defence against the Tatars, "every peasant, when going into the field, carries his own handgun around his neck and a sabre or cleaver at his side. To reflect it we introduce brand new unit you can field using this box: COSSACK RABBLE WITH RANGED WEAPONS.

The rebellious peasants will be encouraged to fight by the Orthodox monks.
