BBX66: Typhoon Fighter-Bomber Flight

Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoon fighter-bombers support the troops with close air support. Aircraft wait in 'cab ranks', ready to dive on any target the ground troops locate for them, unleashing a salvo of RP-3 rockets with the firepower of a cruiser's broadside. The screeching howl of the rockets brings heart to friendly troops as much as it terrifies the enemy.

The black and white invasion stripes were added to Allied aircraft to reduce the chance that they would be attacked by friendly forces during the large scale Normandy landings. The stripes were removed after a month to make them more difficult to spot further into France.
