TARAB01 Argentinian Marine Army Deal - Falklands Limited Edition

As the war continued with the British response, the Marines deployed their forces on East Falkland (Soledad) Island and operated jointly with Argentine Army units.

During the conflict, “Hotel” Rifle Company of the 3rd Marine Infantry Battalion (BIM3) operated on the Camber Peninsula (north of Stanley) and on Pebble (Borbón) Island, where the Argentines has established an airbase. For its part, BIM5 (commanded by Captain Robacio) fought at Mount Longdon (night of 11-12 June), Mount Tumbledown (12-13 June), Sapper Hill, and Pony Pass (on the morning of 14 June, where the last casualties of the war occurred). During the intervening days, they came under artillery fire and air attacks.

After the fall of Stanley on 14 June, the Marines were concentrated at the airport for four days, until they boarded the polar transport ARA Bahía Paraíso and the icebreaker ARA Almirante Irízar, both hospital ships recognized by the International Red Cross, and transferred to the mainland.

A total of 35 Marines died during the conflict.
