TAR300 AML-90 Armoured Car

The Argentine command decided that the soft boggy conditions of the Falkland’s countryside was ill suited to their AMX-13 light tanks, so it was decided to utilise their Panhard AML-90 armoured car which would be faster and more effective at patrolling on the roads.

The Panhard AML (automitrailleuse légère, French for ‘light armoured car’) is an armoured car used by the Argentines in the reconnaissance role. The Panhard AML-90 is lightly armoured on a 4×4 chassis. It is armed with a low velocity DEFA 90mm rifled cannon firing conventional high explosive and high explosive anti-tank rounds. Argentina had 50 AML-90s in total which they received between 1969 and  1971.
