In an age of war, sometimes alliances are necessary to overcome challenges. If times are truly desperate, even the most bitter of enemies need to put their rivalry aside to unite against a larger evil.

Force Construction: Players have 1200 points each to build their army, together forming one 2400 point force, following the army construction rules in the Old World Rulebook (Percentages aren’t shared between the two forces).

Gary and Tess each build an army to bring to the event. As per the army construction rules, Gary needs to spend a minimum of 25% of his points on Core, bringing 300 points of Core Units. Tess also needs to bring 300 points of Core to meet her minimum 25% threshold.

The Allies Matrix: Through ideological differences, a conflicting set of morals or unforgiven sins, not every race in the Old World will play nice.

To represent this in game, there’s an extra set of rules to represent the fragility of your allied armies.

Fast friends, those marked in black, are formed of warriors from the same race. As such, all rules affect all units in the army. For all intents and purposes this force is treated as one large army. To represent the tactical advantage of sending one larger force, fast friends get an additional +1 to the roll to see who goes first and get all the benefits of Trusted Allies.

Trusted Allies, those marked in Green, regularly work together. As such, all units in your partner's army are considered friendly for all intents and purposes (your abilities affect all units, you can target your allies units with spells and characters can join allied units).

Uneasy Allies, those marked in Orange, often share a common goal. Uneasy Allies don’t benefit from allied special rules, cannot be joined by allied characters and are not counted as friendly units for the purposes of special abilities (but count as friendly for the purposes of panic and Psychology tests). In essence, the two forces fight alongside each other without any additional or negative effect.

Desperate Allies, marked in red, are just that; desperate times calling for desperate measures. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”. If an allied unit makes a move action, attempts to cast a spell or attempts to shoot within 6” of an allied unit you must first roll a D6. On a 1, the unit cannot take the action as it’s too busy keeping an eye on its “allies”. However, to represent the disdain these forces have for eachother, units won’t cause Panic when fleeing through other allied units - your allies are too busy laughing and shouting abuse at the fleeing unit to notice any immediate danger.

Painting requirement: There is no painting requirement for this event. However, any unpainted miniatures in your army will disqualify you for the best painted award.

Scoring: The event will be run through Longshanks (Longshanks.org). Players will need one person per team to register on behalf of your team. Pairings and standings will all be visible from the app.

Prizes: There will be prizing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd as well as best painted army. Painting will be judged on individual forces opposed to the allied force as a whole.
